Gail and Elliot commissioned us to light both their ceremony and subsequent wedding reception at the Hyatt at the Bellevue in Philadelphia. The exchanging of their vows took place in the Rose Garden Ballroom, where we washed the aisle and chuppah using our static leko fixtures with a soft, out-of-focus foliage pattern in champagne amber. Once the couple said “I do,” they escorted their guests into the Grand Ballroom for the cocktail and dinner reception, where their lighting experience was elevated:
We started off with uplighting the walls and columns on both levels with a mix of amber and pink, and then we got started with rigging more lekos around the perimeter of the balcony to properly illuminate the band/stage, the dance floor, and the ceiling. We kept the dance floor and band wash out-of-focus to ensure no harsh lines were projected onto any guests, and we projected the ceiling pattern more in-focus. We added contrast to the depth by lighting the wedding cake and each table’s floral centerpieces with our magnetic, battery-powered LED pin spot fixtures. Completing the room was the addition of our intelligent lighting, which brought a touch of energy and movement to the otherwise static design.
In full color or black & white, this room looked truly spectacular, and we were honored to help the newlyweds celebrate in style. Congratulations, Gail and Elliot!
